Frequently Asked Questions
  • How many security guards do I need for an event?

The number of security guards needed for crowd control depends on the size of the venue and the number of people attending your event. In New York it is required to hire 1 guard per 75 people. Some clients book 1 guard for 50 people to be on the safe side (not required).

  • Can we get a consistent set of guards?

Yes. It is important that our clients feel safe and secure. Our security guards build a rapport with our client and to the best of our ability we try to provide the same security guards during the time of services.

  • Do we have an account rep to help us manage personnel?

A dedicated Security Coordinator will be assigned to you after the booking is made. A roving supervisor will provide daily site checks and our 24 Hour Command Center will be available so you can contact us anytime.

  • What are the roles and responsibilities of security guards?

Please visit our Security Guard Duties page to learn more about security officer job description.

  • Can a Fire Guard also serve as a security guard?

    removed immediately.

  • Wha if a security guard calls out sick or takes a vacation?

Our company always has multiple guards on standby.  We have a 24 hour Roving Supervisor who can fill in as a standby at any time. As well as we request our guards to give hours in advance notice if they have to call out so we can accommodate the change without the client being effected.

  • How many hours would be in a shift? Do guards need required breaks?

we are required to give (2) -  15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch for each 8 hour shift.  The Roving Supervisor relieves the guard for their meal break.  We also provide onsite breaks.

  • How do you monitor security guards and what is their check in process?

Our company has a command center with a supervisor onsite, all guards must call from the company's radios which is provided by the appointed supervisor to report for duty, once the guards finish their shift they must call the command center to call out. There are Supervisors for each site who relieves the guard for their meal breaks. Also, part of our command center has roving supervisors who randomly inspect the sites ensuring that the clients needs are being met.

  • What does your security guard uniform look like?

Our uniform requires black work pants / black work boots or sneakers/ "Security" shirt or jacket according to the season.

  • Can security guards remove loiterers without involving the police?

This is a bit of a tricky question. Them "hanging around"  may be loitering to you and without a purpose but to them it may be a visit of a tenant who lives in the building and that is not illegal. Only time you can involve the authority is if they are doing something that is causing harm to the tenants and/or property. That said, these kids are rebellious and certainly wrong doings can be found which allows us to tell them to leave and/or call the police.

  • Can a Security Guard Touch Me?

Most clients don't want guards to apprehend, detain, or physically touch any potential threat or suspected person. If preventive security does not work, security guards are instructed to call in law enforcement for support in most cases. This depends on the individual security company.
